Mental Health & Wellbeing

Our vision at Kilmersdon Church School is for us to take a whole school approach to promoting positive Mental Health and wellbeing, aiming to help children build their resilience, keep them happy and as a result keep them learning to become successful and proactive learners.

We are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff to ensure that the whole school is a community where everyone feels able to thrive. Positive mental wellbeing is essential if children and young people are to flourish and lead fulfilling lives.

At our school we know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times anyone may need additional emotional support.

We take the view that positive mental health is everybody's business and that we all have a role to play.

Good wellbeing supports learning, friendships, and confidence—at school and at home.

Promoting a mentally healthy environment here at Kilmersdon:

  • Promoting our school values; Friendship, Perseverance, Trust, Forgiveness, Peace and Hope.
  • Promoting our school's vision, where we all belong and believe in ourselves and others, and build for our future.
  • Celebrating academic and non-academic achievements.
  • Access to appropriate support that meets their needs.
